During your exam, we will check all the surfaces of each tooth looking for decay, and any issues with existing fillings, crown or other restorative dental work. Our friendly staff will ensure you are comfortable, so when you leave, you are confident in your overall oral health.
Digital & 3D X-Rays
Digital x-rays use less radiation and allow for a more detailed image of the tooth and surrounding structures. Dental cone beam computed tomography (CT) is a special type of x-ray equipment used when regular dental or facial x-rays are not sufficient. Your doctor may use this technology to produce three dimensional (3-D) images of your teeth, soft tissues, nerve pathways and bone in a single scan.
Having your teeth cleaned is generally recommended twice a year, although we may recommend more frequent cleanings for some of our patients. During the cleaning, your hygienist will remove the tartar build-up and plaque from your teeth. The combination of regular cleanings and excellent at-home care is the best way to maintain your perfect smile.
The combination of sugars and plaque bacteria causes the production of acid that can decay your teeth. Fluoride treatment is a solution that helps your teeth be more resistant to the acid. This helps to prevent decay. If you have any questions about fluoride, please don’t hesitate to ask your hygienist or Dr. Robinson. You can schedule your visit by calling our friendly staff (919) 403-5559.
